Daniel stood before his headmaster, ashamed as the man outlined what a poor student he was, with little possibility of excelling in school. When the man told him of an opportunity to apprentice in a trade, learning a skill for a couple of years while still earning his diploma, his heart lifted. This was his chance! Little did he know that the wonderful opportunity was a trick. Hope fled as Daniel realized that he was now a slave.



Instead of learning a useful trade, Daniel was sent to work on a horse farm. His days became a backbreaking blur of mucking out stalls, caring for livestock, and hauling feed. As the months went by, Daniel’s bosses relaxed their vigilance and he was able to contact a friend. Soon, Project 365 helped him escape the prison of his old life, brought him to a safe place, and taught him to hope again. 

With the love of his heavenly Father and people who cared for and believed in him, Daniel finished school, got a good job, and married. No more the frightened little boy, he is a man free to build a life and a family. He is a man with a future and a hope.
